Whakatane District Council supports and facilitates sustainable community growth and development. Council people make a vital contribution towards social well-being, in partnership with central government and local iwi, businesses, education providers and community groups.

Management Team

Whakatane District Council's management team is led by Chief Executive, Diane Turner and consists of three Directors, Chief Financial Officer and the Human Resources Manager. Each Director is responsible for particular departments within Council.
