Wainui Road Sewer Repair

Council contractors are currently in the process of repairing a collapsed sewer main along Wainui Rd in Ohope. Earlier attempts to repair the pipe were not successful due to the poor condition of the pipe. Pipe inspections have revealed that a significant section of pipe will need to be replaced before the main can be put back into service.
These repairs are expected to take several days, during which time standard traffic management arrangements will be in place. No customer impact is expected and all the wastewater is being diverted though a back-up/bypass line.
