Long Term Council Community Plan
PLANNING FOR OUR FUTURE
Draft Long-term Council Community Plan 2009-19
The LTCCP is Council’s main planning document. The purpose of the LTCCP is to inform the community of Council’s activities; what the Council wants to do over the next decade, why we plan to do it, how much it will cost, and who will pay. It explains how Council intends to contribute to community well-being and identifies how progress will be monitored. It provides a picture of everything Council is doing and how those things fit together – a road map of what Council is doing and why. Community consultation is a key element of the LTCCP process.
LTCCPs are required by law and are prepared every three years in consultation with the public. They provide an opportunity for democratic, local decision-making.
The LTCCP details projects, services, facilities and budgets over the next ten years, it includes:
 |
key issues for the Whakatane District over coming years, |
 |
how we’ll deal with those issues, |
 |
how much we’ll need to spend, and, |
 |
where funding will come from. |
