Murupara Community Board Fund
The Murupara Community Board Discretionary Fund provides financial assistance for local initiatives that benefit the communities within that Community Board area.
Who can Apply
Any community group or voluntary organisation domiciled in the Murupara Community Board area can apply for a grant from the fund.
How and When to Apply
Applications are accepted throughout the year subject to funding availability – there is no set application period.
To apply, complete the Discretionary Fund Application Form (.doc, 334Kb) and send your application to:

How Your Application is Assessed
Applications are considered by the Community Board at their next meeting, as they come to hand. Community Board meetings are held every six weeks. Applicants are notified of the decision within a week of that meeting.
Decisions are Made Against the Following Criteria
That the Murupara Community Board Discretionary Fund is to be used for the purposes of:
- providing seeding funding for community projects
- purchasing additional support services and expert opinion
- providing seeding funding for community events
- supporting community projects
- promotion and advertising.
Examples of Successful Applications Include:
- Christmas in the park
- opening of the St John building
- Te Urewera tourist route
- netball travel
- youth camp activities
- firewood programme
- gymnasium equipment.
Accountability
Recipients of the Community Board Discretionary Fund are required to complete an organisational receipt form within which they must:
- specify how the grant was spent and attach evidence of expenditure such as receipts, invoices or signed statements by the club's accountant
- report the benefits of having received the assistance.
