Rates Rebates
The Rates Rebates Scheme provides a rebate of up to $570 for low-income earners who were paying rates for the home in which they were living on 1 July 2010.
Eligibility and benefits
People who are eligible for a rates rebate will pay less in rates to the Council.
• The maximum rebate has increased to $570 for the current 2010/11 financial year.
• The income eligibility for a rebate is $22,340 (plus $500 for each dependant). However, if your income exceeds this amount you could still be entitled to a rebate depending on the total cost of your rates and the number of dependants.
