Animal Complaints
Council responds on average to approximately 200 complaints annually and covers issues such as roaming, wandering, noise, odour, welfare and dairy herds and stock movement problems. In all cases Council does not inform the stock owner of the source of the complaint and approaches the problem in a way where we get the owner to abate the nuisance willingly rather than through enforcement measures. However, in some cases proceedings need to be taken further.
Total confidentiality is guaranteed when contacting the Council and reporting a complaint.
