Animal Complaints
The Council responds on average to approximately 1200 complaints annually and covers issues such as roaming, wandering, noise, odour, welfare and dairy herds and stock movement problems. In all cases the Council does not inform the animal owner of the source of the complaint and approaches the problem in a manner to get the owner to resolve the nuisance willingly rather than through enforcement measures. However, in some cases proceedings need to be taken further.
Total confidentiality is guaranteed when contacting the Council and reporting a complaint.
