Subdivision Consent

If you want to subdivide a property in the Whakatane District you’ll need to get subdivision consent. This type of consent allows you to divide your land or change the position of boundaries.

Subdivision rules are set out in the Proposed Whakatane District Plan.

Zoning

Zoning is the method planners use to indicate how different types of land or areas can be used, and how they can be subdivided. There are different minimum sizes for each zone.

For example, the minimum sizes for land in the Rural 1 Zone is eight hectares.
