Whakatane Aquatic Centre
The Whakatane District Aquatic Centre was opened on 8 December 2001. The facilities include two spa pools, a hydroslide, a 25 metre indoor pool, a 33 m outdoor pool (seasonal), a learners' and a beach pool.
The Pool is used on a regular basis by the Whakatane Amateur Swimming Club, the Whakatane Underwater Club and several of the schools within the urban area for swimming tuition and training. Aquarobics and swimming lessons are available for members of the public. The pool caters for lane swimming, recreational play and can be booked for training, events or children's parties.
The Aquatic Centre is operated by Total Leisure Concepts Limited and also incorporates a fully equipped gymnasium facility (leisure club). To find more about opening hours, programmes and activities or to take a virtual tour click here.

Murupara
The Murupara Swimming pools (also known as the A H Lynd Memorial Baths) opened in 1965 with a paddling pool and in 1968 the 33 metre main pool was opened.
The heated pools are managed on the Council's behalf through a lease arrangement. The pool opens in October (after Labour Weekend) and closes late April. The pools are opened for six hours each day during this time. It is used daily during by the two local primary schools and college.
