Support Us

Donations

Whakatane District Library is delighted to accept donations as gifts on the understanding that this:

  • Does not impose any obligations on the Library system.
  • Is not in exchange for a reduction in fees or other charges.

We are not always able to use items that are donated to us. In this case we will consider/advise of other options – including donating to:

  • Whakatane Museum and Gallery
  • other libraries

Or

  • include items in our book sales thus indirectly assisting the library.
  • other appropriate forms of disposal

Volunteers

All Whakatane District Libraries’ branches need volunteers.

Volunteers are a valuable resource for our libraries. Without them we would be unable to provide some services.

You can help us by:

  • shelving (just returned items)
  • shelf checking that items are in correct order on the shelves
  • book mending
  • story telling
  • delivering to and collecting items from house bound members

If you can:

  • enjoy being part of a team
  • follow instructions
  • work unsupervised
  • comply with the Health and Safety Regulations

Then call us for further information.
