Donations
Whakatane District Library is delighted to accept donations as gifts on the understanding that this:
- Does not impose any obligations on the Library system.
- Is not in exchange for a reduction in fees or other charges.
We are not always able to use items that are donated to us. In this case we will consider/advise of other options – including donating to:
- Whakatane Museum and Gallery
- other libraries
Or
- include items in our book sales thus indirectly assisting the library.
- other appropriate forms of disposal
Volunteers
All Whakatane District Libraries’ branches need volunteers.
Volunteers are a valuable resource for our libraries. Without them we would be unable to provide some services.
You can help us by:
- shelving (just returned items)
- shelf checking that items are in correct order on the shelves
- book mending
- story telling
- delivering to and collecting items from house bound members
If you can:
- enjoy being part of a team
- follow instructions
- work unsupervised
- comply with the Health and Safety Regulations
