Whakatane Engineering Code of Practice
Whakatane District Council's Engineering Code of Practice provides the engineering standards and guidelines that apply for any infrastructure development in Whakatane District.
The Engineering Code of Practice is to be used in conjunction with relevant New Zealand Standards on Land Development and Subdivision Engineering, as well as others which are stipulated in the introductory section.

Objectives of the Engineering Code of Practice
The objectives of the Engineering Code of Practice are to:
Ensure that engineering services for which the Council is, or may be, responsible for in future are designed and installed to the appropriate standards.
Provide guidelines for designers, some acceptable solutions and some local information.
Set out a process for inspection,maintenance, reporting and certification of engineering services and qualifications of personnel required for this.
Define the requirements for engineering services, which the Council will assume the management and maintenance of after completion of the development.
