- mobile trading

• The investigation, resolution and monitoring of 'nuisances' or health hazards that are likely to be injurious to health or have objectionable effects, such as excessive noise, the presence of vermin, odours, illegally dumped rubbish, housing defects, food complaints … to name but a few.

• The investigation of infectious diseases notified by the Medical Officer of Health, food poisonings, and food-borne illnesses, to ascertain possible sources and to prevent further spread within the community.

• The inspection of premises holding liquor licenses to ensure licensees meet their obligations and responsibilities under the Sale of Liquor Act and the Whakatane District Licensing Agency's Sale of Liquor Policy.
