Works involved stream management, re-aligning the stream and the upgrading of culverts / bridges to provide a better debris and flood flow path. The majority of this work has been completed.
Works involved replacing culverts, installing flood walls and carrying out stream improvements. Works have been completed on this project.
Works will involve the construction of an estimated 15m high debris detention structure in the upper Awataratiki Stream and the restoration of the Clem Elliott Drive area.
Works will involve construction of an estimated 5m high debris containment bund on the fanhead and partial flow restoration of the stream back through the town watercourse.
Works will involve upgrading the debris flood channel on the fanhead in conjunction with the construction of silt traps at the head of the lagoon.
