Our main offices will be closed Easter Weekend. Refuse collection will not take place on Good Friday, 29 March. Areas, where refuse is collected on Fridays, will instead have collections on Saturday, 30 March. This affects the Te Teko, Edgecumbe, Poroporo and White Pine Bush areas. Refuse will be collected on all other days as normal.

Greenwaste

Greenwaste collection is available for all residents with a Council refuse collection in urban areas of Whakatāne, Ōhope, Tāneatua, Te Teko, Edgecumbe, Matatā and Murupara. The large 240 L greenwaste bin is collected fortnightly on the same day as your residual waste and on alternate weeks to your recycling.

To ensure your greenwaste is collected, do not put any food waste contaminants in your bins.

Check when your next Greenwaste collection is due at Waste Collection Days.
