"Learn a Skill for life" at the Whakatāne Aquatic Centre. Our Swim School programme caters for all ages and stages from 6 months through to adults. Living in a community that is surrounded by beaches, lakes and rivers, it is important that we provide our children with the skills that could one day save a life.
Learning to swim is a life skill, and like learning any new skill it takes time, practise, and most importantly patience.
We have qualified instructors that are committed and dedicated to assisting your children on the Learn to Swim journey. If you are new to our programme, we would like to offer you a free swim assessment to ensure that your child will be in the correct class.

Safe Boating programme
We run a water safety awareness and Safe Boating Programme in partnership with Coastguard Boating Education for all our Learn to Swim Students. More information »
Prices
Prices are based on a 10 week school term.
- Prices will vary depending on how long the term is.
- Lessons are run for the duration of the term.
- All lessons are half an hour.
- One lesson per week.
