Whakatāne District Council is inviting our district’s seniors to join us for the annual Seniors' Morning Tea on Tuesday, 2 December, at the Whakatāne War Memorial Hall, starting at 9:30 am.
Hosted by Mayor Nándor Tánczos, Councillors, and Community Board representatives, the annual event is an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the contribution this generation has made to our communities.
Guests will be treated to tasty Christmas-themed refreshments, warm drinks, and live local entertainment. The morning is all about connection, conversation, and community spirit.
Mayor Tánczos says the event is always a highlight on the Council calendar.
“I’m really happy to be continuing this important tradition. Our seniors bring so much heart, wisdom, and vibrancy to the Whakatāne District. This morning tea is a small way for Council to say thank you and for all of us to come together in the lead-up to the festive season.”
No RSVP is required. Seniors are welcome to simply come along, enjoy the hospitality, and get into the festive spirit.
