Whakatāne District Council is carrying out essential water supply work that will require a temporary water shutdown in Matatā.

The following properties will be without water during this time:
• 1 Matata Road
• 11 Mair Street
• Wilson Street, numbers 5, and 6 to 18
• Pollen Street, even numbers 2 to 24 and odd numbers 1 to 43
• Nesbitt Street, even numbers 2 to 8 and odd numbers 5 to 7
• Heale Street, odd numbers 1 to 11 and even numbers 2 to 14
• All properties in Marae Lane, Fairfield Lane and St John Street
• Thornton Road, numbers 1745, 1687, 1693 and 1685A
• Arawa Street, odd numbers 19 to 25
What you need to know
Residents are advised to store enough water ahead of time for drinking, cooking and essential household use.
Once water supply is restored, water may appear cloudy for a short time. This is caused by air in the pipes and should clear after running a tap for a few minutes.
