Planned water shutdown – Oregon Drive, Kowhai Ave & Ngaio Place, Murupara
As part of the water mains and connections renewal project, a planned water shutdown will take place in the following areas. Please see the details below:
When is the shutdown happening?
- Monday 24 November 2025, 9am–4pm
Oregon Drive: 3, 4, 6, 8
Kowhai Ave (Odd numbers): 1, 3, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27
Kowhai Ave (Even numbers): 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32
- Tuesday 25 November 2025, 9am–4pm
Oregon Drive (Odd numbers): 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41
Oregon Drive (Even numbers): 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30

Why is this happening?
This shutdown is required to allow connection works as part of the water mains and connections renewal project at Oregon Drive.
What do I need to do?
- Water supply will be unavailable during the shutdown times.
- After water is restored, mains flushing will be carried out to remove any air or sediment.
- If your water appears cloudy, run your outside tap closest to the road for 2–3 minutes until it runs clear. This is safe and simply due to air pockets in the pipeline.
- If you rely on water for critical medical support, please arrange alternative water supply for the shutdown period.
- Consider filling buckets or a bathtub with water for general use, and keep a water container filled for drinking.
