What did Plan Change 8 do?
Plan Change 8 rezoned 15ha of land for residential development at Huna Road to provide around 175 homes. This included 12 Huna Road (aka Julians Berry Farm), 30A Huna Road, 234 and 234A State Highway 30.

What's happened?
Consultation was held in 2024. 169 submissions and 3 further submissions were received and a hearing was held in December 2024. Decisions were issued in February 2025 and appeals were open until April 2025.
No appeals were received and the Council approved the plan change on the 8 May 2025. The plan change was made Operative in the District Plan on 26 May 2025.
