Whakatāne District Council has prepared a Summary of Decisions Requested on Proposed Plan Change 2 to the Whakatāne District Plan. This plan change seeks to rezone 23 and 45 Keepa Road, Whakatāne, from Light Industrial to Residential. Further submissions are now sought on the submissions that have been made.
The Summary of Decisions Requested and copies of submissions are available on the Council website, and may be inspected between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday, at the District Council offices at 14 Commerce Street, Whakatāne, and District libraries at:
- Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi - Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre, 49 Kākahoroa Drive, Whakatāne
- Edgecumbe Library, 38 College Road, Edgecumbe

Further submissions
A further submission may only express support or opposition to a matter raised in an original submission (made under clauses 6 or 6A of the Resource Management Act 1991) and must not raise new points of submission. Further submissions must be lodged using the prescribed RMA form (Form 6), which can be completed online, downloaded from the Whakatāne District Council website, or collected from the libraries listed above.

A copy of the further submission is also required to be sent to the original submitter not later than five working days after lodging the ‘further submission’ with the Whakatāne District Council (Clause 8A, Schedule 1).
Further submissions must be lodged by no later than 5 pm on Wednesday, 27 June 2018.
Following the close of further submissions, a report will be prepared on the proposal, and a hearing date will be set and notified to all submitters and further submitters who wish to be heard.
