A fatal vehicle accident has occurred involving a contractor from Waste Management New Zealand Limited, which collects refuse and recycling within the District for the Council.
Due to the accident, as of early afternoon on Friday, 6 October, any remaining waste collections for the day will be cancelled. These will be collected on the weekend.
All waste transfer stations will be closed for the remainder of Friday, with normal hours resuming thereafter.
