The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has issued a shellfish biotoxin alert for coastlines stretching across our entire District and into other areas of the Bay of Plenty.
Due to the risk of paralytic shellfish poisoning, shellfish collected in this area are no longer considered safe to eat. Do not collect or eat shellfish in this area until MPI issues an all-clear.
