Affected area: Bridge Street/SH2 from the corner of Puriri Crescent to the foot of the Rangitāiki Bridge

In conjunction with the Waka Kotahi (New Zealand Transport Agency) road rehabilitation works, Whakatāne District Council is replacing the aging water mains on Bridge Street/SH2 from the corner of Puriri Crescent to the foot of the Rangitāiki Bridge. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, 11 January 2021 and may take eight to ten weeks to complete. Council’s contractor will be mostly working on the berm, but the work may still cause some disruption. At times, there will be water shutdowns and affected residents will be notified with the details prior to the planned shutdown.
