Water Shutdown - Tahuna Road

Date: Wednesday, 27 November 2019
Time: 10 am - 6 pm
Affected Properties: Tahuna Road  (from 283 – 487 Tahuna Road)

Due to complications the water outage has been extended to 6 pm. Staff and contractors are urgently working to get the project completed.

Planned maintenance will be carried out in the valve chambers below the Tahuna Road Reservoir. Council contractor will be isolating the water supply in your area between the hours shown above.

Please be advised that mains flushing will be carried out following reinstatement of full pressure to remove any entrapped air or sediments in the line. However, in cases where your private pipes are old and/or rusted (e.g. galvanised iron pipe), as a precaution, we advised that you run your outside tap for at least 2-3 minutes to dislodge any sediments and remove entrapped air in your lines prior to opening any inside taps.

Some properties in the Te Teko township may have lower pressure than usual, however it will still be within Council's level of service (Pressure of 300 KPA). If you have any concerns about your water supply, or experience anything unusual, please contact us.

Important: If you or a member of your household depends on water for critical medical support that requires a continuation of water supply - please ensure you make alternative arrangements for the times stated above.

We recommend that before the water shutdown, you fill a couple of buckets or your bathtub with water for your use and have a potable water container filled with water for drinking.

Council thanks consumers for their cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience experienced during this essential supply shutdown.

Please contact us if you have any queries or concerns regarding this shutdown.
