Shane Walker Yellow Submarine - Chorus Cabinet art

Chorus Cabinet Art initiative

We've teamed up with Chorus once again to bring works of art to a neighbourhood near you. Chorus Cabinet Art

The Chorus Cabinet Art initiative provides an opportunity for local artists to paint their communities beautiful by transforming plain Chorus cabinetry into beautiful, bright designs.

Applications are now open and it's a great opportunity for artists to showcase their talents and put their mark on the District.

This year another three cabinets have been selected for beautification, two in Whakatāne, and one in Matatā. The winning design for each cabinet will be chosen from entries received.

To undertake the work, the winning artists are entitled to remuneration of between $400 - $2,100 depending on the size of the cabinet.

Applications close on 31 August 2023. All finished art will be included on the Chorus website and will be considered for the 2023 Chorus Cabinet Art calendar, copies of which are sent around the world.
