2017 By-Election: Murupara Community Board (Galatea-Waiohau subdivision)

As a result of a resignation, an extraordinary vacancy occurred in the Murupara Community Board (Galatea-Waiohau Subdivision) of the Whakatāne District Council. A by-election was required to be held to fill the vacancy.

The by-election was conducted under the provisions of the Local Electoral Act 2001 and the Local Electoral Regulations 2001 and was undertaken by Independent Election Services Ltd, under contract to the Whakatāne District Council.


Nominations

Nominations for the vacancy opened on Wednesday, 26 April 2017 and closed at noon on Wednesday, 24 May 2017.

As the number of candidates does not exceed the number of vacancies, Te Waiti Virginia Rangiwai is declared duly elected to the Murupara Community Board (Galatea-Waiohau subdivision).
