Whakatāne District Council advises the following road will be closed to ordinary traffic for the purpose of the Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiarangi Graduation Hikoi on 31st March 2023.

During the closure, provision will be made for access in emergency situations only.

This road closure is made under the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965 and Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1974. 

It will be an offence under the above regulation for any person other than under authority of an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicular traffic during the closure period.
