Whakatāne District Council advises there will be a water shutdown overnight tomorrow, Tuesday 27 February, from 8pm through to midnight, for some homes and businesses in the Alexander Avenue and King Street neighbourhood.

This water shutdown affects properties from number 29 to 79 Alexander Avenue (odd numbers only), all of Tāne Lane, number 50 Douglas Street, and numbers 145, 166 and 166A King Street.

If you or a member of your household depends on water for critical medical support that requires a continuation of water supply – please make alternative arrangements. This could include filling buckets or your bathtub with water and having a potable water container filled with water for drinking. 

This essential water shutdown is to allow for repair works on the water main.
