Whakatāne District Council advises there will be a water shutdown tomorrow, 28th November, between 9am – 4:30pm impacting number 48 McAlister Street, numbers 4 through to 44 Peace Street (even side of the street only) and numbers 45 to 49 McGarvey Road.

This is so connection works can be carried out as part of Whakatāne District Council’s Watermain Renewal Programme happening in the Peace Street area. 

If you or a member of your household depends on water for critical medical support that requires a continuation of water supply – please ensure you make alternative arrangements. This could include filling a couple of buckets or your bathtub with water for your use and have a potable water container filled with water for drinking.  

Once water is back on, we recommend you run your outside tap for at least two-three minutes to dislodge any sediment and remove entrapped air in your lines prior to opening any inside taps.
