Draintech contractors will be shutting down the water supply to the north side of Waimana Road [odd house numbers between number 239 and 287] from 9:00 am to 3 pm of Monday 17 February 2020.

Please be advised that Draintech will flushing the watermains following completion of the connection works and reinstatement of full pressure. This flushing of the water mains is undertaken so as to remove entrapped air and/or sediments in the pipe.

However, in circumstances where your private pipes are old and/or rusted (e.g. in the case of old galvanised iron pipe), as a precaution, we advise that you run an outside tap for at least 2 minutes before opening any inside taps - as this will assist with dislodging any sediments that may have built up and also releasing entrapped air.

Important: If you or a member of your household depends on water for critical medical support that requires a continuation of water supply – please ensure you make alternative arrangements for the times stated above.

We recommend that you fill a couple of buckets or your bathtub with water for your use and have a potable water container filled with water for drinking.
